London Boat Show 2014With the London Boat Show just around the corner, we are delighted to announce that RYA Members’ can take advantage of a specially negotiated ticket price of £11.00.

Taking place over the 4 to 12 January 2014, RYA Members will be able to buy an 'Any Day' ticket in advance at the specially negotiated discounted price of £11 (a fee of £1.75 applies per transaction when buying in advance), saving £9.00 off the cost of a ticket purchased on the gate.

15% discount on Sailing Theory and Yacht Design course

For RYA members interested in the more technical aspects of sailing theory and yacht design this is an offer not to be missed. RYA Members can take advantage of a 15% discount to the International School of Yacht Design’s course on Sailing Theory and Yacht Design.

ISYD

Aimed at the interested yachtsman, no technical education is required, the series of public evening lectures will focus on applying basic sailing theory to explain the steps in the design of a modern yacht. The course will also look at the means to improve existing yachts from a speed and safety point of view and physical explanations of the yacht’s behaviour in calm water and waves will be given.

Lectures will be held in Southampton on Wednesdays and in London on Thursdays starting on 29 January 2014 (Southampton) and 30 January (London) and run for a period of six weeks. Lecturers include; Professor Lars Larsson, from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg - a former adviser to Americas Cup Teams in Sweden, Italy and the USA and two faculty members at the Solent University in Southampton; Dr Robin Loscombe and Mr Giles Barkley.
