PORT CHANTEREYNE
The marina Port Chantereyne in Cherbourg is located in the largest artificial harbour in Europe making it a very safe place to moor. The marina is a deep water marina and is therefore accessible 24h/24 at all states of tide and weather. Being the closest French marina to the Solent, Port Chantereyne is ideally located in the heart of the English Channel and is a perfect starting point to sail to St Vaast La Hougue and the landing beaches to the East, and the Channel Islands to the West. Cherbourg itself is a typically French destination with its large selection of shops, bars, restaurants, gardens, parks and museums all located very close to the marina. The friendly English speaking marina staff will be delighted to help with the organisation of your stay in Cherbourg. For all members of the Westerly Owners Association, Port Chantereyne will offer a discount on berthing fees on presentation of the 2013 membership card. For more information about Port Chantereyne and Cherbourg, please visit: www.portchantereyne.fr/

Welcome to the Royal Victoria Yacht Club web site.
On the East shore of Wootton Creek in Fishbourne with a fabulous vista over the Solent, the Royal Victoria Yacht Club is a very sociable and friendly club with an 'open-to-all' policy. We welcome all levels of sailing, from absolutely no experience whatsoever, to the hardened racers or round-the-world sailors. We have a packed racing and training schedule all year round as well as a social calendar that is second to none.
Our cadets are very active all year round, both on and off the water. Learning to sail is not just about knowing where the wind is coming from. These youngsters from the age of 8, sailing Optimists, Picos and Lasers, learn life skills such as tactics, planning and first aid. They grow in confidence in themselves and learn to trust their own judgement. They will make new friends and above all else have fun. The fun is not just on the water; Friday night is cadet night and great fun for the whole family. Events such as indoor hockey (with newspaper sticks), scrap heap challenge, quiz night and many more, keep the kids occupied whilst parents enjoy the hospitality of the clubhouse. If you are considering joining a club, sailing or otherwise, I recommend popping down on a Friday evening to have a look. There will always be a flag officer or member happy to sign you in and show you around.
Adults are well catered for too, with a comprehensive adult sailing programme which caters for all levels of experience. Our fleet of National Squibs is one of the largest on the south coast. We also have handicap fleets of boats such as RS400s, RS600s, Solos, Bahias and Wayfarers as well as a strong laser fleet.
Our Cruiser fleet has a huge range of boats from Super Seals, to multihulls and Southerly’s which take part in cruising, rallies and racing. Visiting yachts are welcomed and our pontoons are a popular destination. Just remember we do dry out.
We have a unique location which is ideal for that special occasion such as a wedding reception or birthday party and our caterers, Gail Force, have a great selection of menus at a very reasonable price.
The Royal Victoria Yacht Club is a special place and probably the best sailing club anywhere.
