Set in a beautiful Pennine valley on the border between Northumberland and Durham and bounded by moorland and conifers, Derwent Reservoir is perfectly located and is within easy reach of Newcastle Upon Tyne. The reservoir is 3.5 miles long and has a thousand acres of beautiful clean and open water devoted entirely to windsurfing & sailing. Whether you are a complete novice or an experienced competitor, Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club provides a fantastic environment in which to enjoy and improve your sailing.
The two storey clubhouse, built in 1965, is situated on the north shore of the reservoir and is well equipped with showers, changing rooms, a large club room, galley, bar, roof top patio and indoor workshop. Five generous slipways provide for easy launching and the boat park has tarmac access to over 400 berths.
Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club is registered as a Community Amateur Sports Club with the Inland Revenue and welcomes people from all walks of life and all abilities.
