International Foundation For Disabled Sailing

IFDS Bulletin May 2002 - has yesterday been issued and can be viewed both on the IFDS website (ifds.org) and the ISAF website (www.sailing.org/disabled).

Contents include details of the immediate changes to the Functional Classification System, update on arrangements for the 2002 IFDS World Disabled Sailing Championships which is the first qualification regatta for the 2004 Paralympic Regatta, notes to sailors on classification, 2.4mR specification for the 2004 Paralympic Regatta and Paralympic Qualification Regattas, round-up of recent event news, details of forthcoming disabled sailing events and more.

If you would like to subscribe to receive the IFDS Bulletin, you can do so via ISAF Sailor (www.sailing.org/isafsailor). If you are already registered to ISAF Sailor, then you need only go to Email Services and tick the box for the IFDS Bulletin. If you are not registered to ISAF Sailor then complete the simple registration form, before proceeding to Email Services.

Functional Classification System 2000 (FCS2000) - the IFDS has made changes to its FCS2000 which come into immediate effect regarding:

- Rule 2.3 - regarding a clarification of the phrase "Functional Length of the Stump", which will now read as follows:

- Rule 2.5, 3.2 and Appendix G - regarding Impairment of Sight and the IFDS Vision Test Form.
