A cold Lake Lipno

Czech Team Racing Championship
Lake Lipno, Brno

The Czech Team Racing Championship organised by Lipno Yacht Club and Marina Lipno took place on Lake Lipno from 23 to 25 October 2003. Eight teams from the Czech Republic took part, some with team members from Slovakia.
The Lake Lipno is about 720 m above sea level and the temperature varied from +4C during the first day down to minus 4C on Friday. The wind was up to 15knts so not too bad as the temperature was!

The full round robin was sailed followed by LVC knock-outs with double chance. In total 60 races were sailed with one flight of 420s.

The overall winner was RODOP team with Lukas NEUMANN, David KRIZEK, Radek SMETANA, Jana LANDKAMEROVA, Jakub KOZELSKY and Marketa SCHWARZOVA. In second place was STAROBRNO - Josef PAVLOVSKY, Katerina MATLOVA-CHMELAROVA, Marketa KOZELSKA, Katerina KRELINOVA, Petr SKLENAR and Adam PLHON. In third was a very young CADET team lead by Eduard PLHON.

Thanks to all the organisers, sponsors - ASA company, HVP insurance company and Pilsner Urquell as well as to Radio FAKTOR and TV NOVA. Thanks also to all the umpires and race officers, with special thanks to Greg ANSELL and Andrew DAVIES (GBR) for coming and umpiring.

The greatest news after the event - it looks nobody has frozen!
