Day 1
Approaching the mark on day one of the Laser Worlds

World Laser Standard Senior Championship
Boltenhagen, Germany

With two first places defending World Champion Tom Slingsby from Australia is at the top of the overall leaderboard after the first day of the 2012 Laser Worlds in Boltenhagen, Germany.
The first race of the qualifying series for the Audi Laser World Championship 2012 started on time at 13:00h on Friday 4 May with Southeasterly winds with 10 to 15 knots lead to two black flag starts for the blue and red fleets.

The second race of the day had to be delayed and the course was amended due to the wind shifting to a westerly direction. The second round started at 16:00 with winds from five to ten knots. There was a general recall for all three fleets, leading to the black flag being hoisted three more times.

With two first places defending World Champion Tom Slingsby from Australia is at the top of the overall leaderboard, two points ahead of Croatia's Tonci Stipanovi? with one first and one third place and Rutger Van schaardenburg from the Netherlands with a total of six points from a second and fourth place.

The 2008 Olympic gold medalist Paul Goodison (GBR) got two yellow flags in the first run and was therefore scored a "Did Not Finish". In the second race however he pushed to second place in his fleet, making him 95th overall.
