ISAF Mid Year Meeting, Paris

The Centenary year celebrations started in style, with two spectacular events during the weekend.

On the Friday evening, San Pellegrino hosted the dinner to present the ISAF Beppe Croce Trophy, this year presented to IOC President Jacques Rogge. The venue in Bercy, a stunning replica 18th Century Venetian ballroom, saw many distinguished guests in attendance, including from the IOC Ser Miang Ng, Fernando Lima Bello, Henri Sarandour and Peter Tallberg, also a previous ISAF President. IOC Honorary member, His Majesty King Constantine was also in attendance with Queen Anne- Marie.

On Saturday night, delegates were treated to a stunning evening, with dinner on a riverboat on the Seine, courtesy of FFV and Rolex France. During the evening, His Majesty, King Constantine was presented with a Rolex, in recognition of his outstanding commitment to sailing through the years.

ISAF would like to thank all the sponsors for the Mid-Year meeting as mentioned above, but also to Schenker Global Sports Events for their valuable services to the ISAF Secretariat.

Lithuania's Juozas Bernotas came out on top in the Men's RS:X whilst Russia's Stefania Elfutina was triumphant in the Women's RS:X. Both sailors claim the first Abu Dhabi ISAF Sailing World Cup Final spots whilst Jock Calvert (AUS) and Joanna Sterling (AUS) picked up the Oceanic spots for the Emirati finale.

A tight group of five young Papua New Guinean (PNG) Laser sailors are stepping up their 2015 Pacific Games competition program using this week's ISAF Sailing World Cup Melbourne. PNG is one of 33 countries represented at the important Oceanic event, the largest Olympic sailing regatta in the southern hemisphere.
