Finn Junior World Championship 2007
Moscow, Russia

The Moscow Sailing Club will be the host for the 2007 Finn Junior World Championship, from 18-26 August. Usually racing in the same fleet as the seniors, this is the first time that the Juniors will have a separate championship with the Moscow Sailing School set to provide 40 Finns and ten coach boats to competitors.

With the number restriction imposed for the ISAF Sailing World Championships this year and the growing numbers of junior sailors joining the Finn, it was an obvious decision to have a separate event this year.

From the 100 Finn boats purchased in 2005 by the city of Moscow to rebuilt the Finn fleet in Russia, 40 boats with mast and sail will be provided to the competitors. To further minimize the costs, the Moscow Sailing School has offered full board accommodation for only 30 Euros a day to the sailors and coaches. Ten coach boats are available for free use by the coaches.

This is a great opportunity for Junior Finn sailors and class newcomers to have access to an international event with high quality equipment for a limited budget (entry fee 150 Euros). A free training clinic will be organized prior to the event. Places are limited and entry requests should be sent to the International Finn Association office by mid-June.
