Racing Underway At ISAF Nations Cup Asian Regional Final

ISAF Nations Cup 2013 - Regional Final Asia
Vladivostok, Russia
The Asian ISAF Nations Cup Regional Final has got underway in Vladivostok, Russia on the waters of Amursky Bay.
At the end of the first round robin Maximillian Soh (SIN), Wataru Sakamoto (JPN) and Ilya Ermakov (RUS) lead the way on four wins and one loss each.
Vladimir Lipavsky (RUS) sits in fourth place on two wins followed by Nikolay Korolev (RUS) on one win and Ebrahim Abdulla (BRN) sits last on zero wins.
Ahead of the first day of racing local skipper Korolev said
, "We hope we can be successful, because such events are not just once a year and for the first time they are with us at home. The task is - to realize that we stand for something.
"Most of the opponents we already know and have been competing with them for years. But those who take part in the contest for the first time, for us, are the dark horse, and we do not know what to expect from them."
Racing in Platu 25s the second day of racing sees a second round-robin before the top four advance to a semi-final and eventually through to the final at the ISAF Grade 2 regatta.
The winner will advance to the ISAF Nations Cup Grand Final set to be held in Middelfart, Denmark from 6-10 August.
