Located at the Castle Court development in Portland, RYA Portland House, provides purpose built accommodation and training facilities for the RYA in one of the primary training and event locations in the UK.

Rooms are available to book for those training, taking part at events at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy or just visiting the local area.  Rooms are charged at a special rate of £58 per night for RYA members, payable at the time of booking.

For those staying in the accommodation for the first time a briefing and a tour of the building will be provided on arrival, or at a time agreed with the Facilities Manager.  If you are arriving early please let the Facilities Manager know so that he can confirm that your room is ready.  The Facilities Manager, Peter Aitken can be contacted on 01305 828941 or  07795 248053.

How to Book

RYA Members wishing to book up to 5 rooms can book online, at a special rate of £58 per night, alternatively for group bookings please use our enquiry form.  For an overview of availability you can use our availability calendar 

Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Terms and Conditions

Facilities

  • 24 twin rooms
  • The top floor provides a small area for training courses and briefings.
  • A full commercial kitchen can provide meals by prior arrangement.
  • Laundry room with 2 washing machines and tumble dryers available free of charge, washing powder provided.
  • The picture window and balcony provide stunning views across the harbour towards Weymouth and Lulworth Cove.

Room amenities

  • En-suite with shower and toilet.
  • Some rooms have a full size pull-out bed.
  • Bed linen and towels provided.
  • Kitchenette with sink, microwave, fridge and twin hob.
  • Tea and coffee making facilities, but you may wish to bring your own milk and provisions.
  • TV and free wifi.


Catering

As a general rule there is no catering provided unless it has been arranged for a squad or specific event.  WPNSA can provide breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are a number of local food shops in Portland and a number of local businesses deliver food and lunches.

Postcode DT5 1FA.  After crossing the causeway from Weymouth to Portland, at the third roundabout take the first exit and follow the road round into Mulberry Avenue and the building is on the right.
