Getting out on the water for the first time is easy with the RYA Training Centres and RIB hire companies that are based all over the world.
Starter courses
The RYA runs an internationally recognised powerboat training scheme. The ideal course to get you started is the Level 1 Powerboat certificate, which takes just one day.
What you'll need
When starting out you will require minimal kit as the RYA Training Centre or hire company will supply all the necessary safety kit and wet weather clothing you will need.
Find a club
There are many clubs and associations in the UK which welcome newcomers to the sport. Joining a club is a great way to become involved with the sport, making it more accessible to everyone.
Where to buy
There are many specialist shops that stock a good range of kit. Ask the RYA Training Centre that you attend for advice and also look online for mail order companies and second hand kit.
