We’re having an issue with disappearing user and background images. Those affected will have their custom images replaced by defaults. This is due to a caching error on our side which means that your images are not lost and have not been deleted. They are not displaying correctly and we are working to get them to load properly.
We’re working on a bug whereby the default avatar is showing up for users who have previously uploaded their own image. We hope to resolve this soon.
Update (5:30p): We’ve identified the root cause of this problem and expect the issue to be resolved within the next several hours.
We are currently working on a critical bug whereby some tweets from users you follow may not appear in your timeline. This bug particularly affects the delivery of tweets from users you follow that themselves have a large number of followers.
We plan on deploying the first part of the fix for this bug tomorrow morning and will update status thereafter.
Update: We deployed a fix for one of the underlying problems and are assessing its success.
We’re investigating a problem whereby some people are missing tweets from some of the people they follow.
Many users are seeing slowness with the site but we are working on the problem. Some broken user images/avatars or malformed pages may be seen during the recovery.
Some apps are experiencing “secure connection failed” errors coming from our servers when trying to make API requests. We are aware of the issue and investigating
Some tweets are being delayed by about 5 minutes. We’re working on this and believe it will be fixed soon.
A fraction of tweets and followings are currently delayed. We are investigating the problem.
We’re aware and currently working on an issue in which trends in search are unclickable; updates as we resolve the issue.
