Sailing is also one of Britain’s most successful Olympic medal winning sports and one of the most accessible sports for people with a disability.

Clubs offer a range of fantastic facilities and are the perfect place to experience your first taste of sailing or windsurfing. With 1,500 across the country there will certainly be one in your area.
Sailing has seen huge investment by the RYA and Sport England in the last four years and many clubs have comfortable lounges, dedicated training rooms and up to date changing rooms, plus there are hundreds of boats available in clubs across the country for children and adults to learn to sail, borrow or hire.
They are open to the whole family, with children from a very young age able to sail along with their parents and then enjoy a chat in the clubhouse afterwards.
Once you’ve had a taster session, If you want to learn more, many sailing clubs run courses that cater for youngsters from the age of eight upwards helping them progress from learning to sail to more advance skills and racing. There’s an equivalent set of courses for adults.
