Two practice days are behind the competitors and racing at the 2014 ISAF Youth Match Racing World Championship is set to commence on Wednesday 23 July.

The first race day morning at the Bic Techno 293 Worlds in Brest, France was a calm one with breeze at a minimum but the racers got onto the course late in the afternoon to complete one race.

Reigning Marblehead World Champion Brad Gibson (GBR) successfully defending his title in a 68-boat fleet on the Lakes of Reeuwijk in the Netherlands.

It's more like Costa del Hayling at the moment - sweltering heat and little wind make it great for sunbathers and ice cream vans, but less so for the Moth fleet. The race committee made the most of the breeze that did come in and managed to get two races in for Yellow fleet and one for Blue fleet, bringing the Qualifying Series to a close after 5 races.

The final day of the PWA Gran Canaria Wind & Waves Festival lived up to expectations as Pozo provided a full day of fantastic competition - spanning nine action packed hours - to conclude the event.

The 2014 Flying Dutchman World championships came to a close with the Hungarian pair of Szabolcs Majthenyi and Andras Domokos taking first place in the final race and continuing their series of great results throughout the week long regatta.

Racing on the second day started around 13:00 local time after the Westerly sea breeze came in. Blue fleet made up for their lost race from Saturday and then sailed two more races in the best of the breeze.
