MIDWEST: Flood Watch

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

HODR is actively monitoring the developing flood situation in North Dakota and Minnesota.

We have had regular contact with MN VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) and are participating in both MN and ND VOAD conference calls daily.

Area rivers are at “major flood stage” and continuing to rise. Thankfully, at the time of this post, waters have not entered any densely populated areas. Should the flood waters breach levees and damage a significant number of homes HODR will send an assessment team to the affected area to evaluate the needs and potential for a HODR volunteer response project.

Follow along as we monitor the situation via our US Operations Twitter micro-blog, http://twitter.com/HODRopsUSA, and check back to www.HODR.org for future updates.
