Splash World Championship 2005
Puck, Poland

The Splash World Championship in Puck, Poland got underway in near perfect conditions, with the Netherlands' Mark BONSINK holds the lead after the opening two races.
ImThe sailors have been divided into four groups - yellow, green, red and blue. Each group consists of 26 sailors that are different each time. The races are being held in two groups - two colours each. Each group has its own course.

An excellent first race got the Championship off to a flying start. BONSINK took the bullet in his race whilst Belgium's Nick WILLEMS won in the other. Race two of the Championship saw Steyn SCHILTKAMP (NED) edge BONSINK into second place, whilst Remco HOEFFNAGEL (NED) took the victory in the other race to move him second overall.

With second places in both races Hielke DIJKSTRA (NED) lies third in the overall standings, and both of the other top five slots are also currently being occupied by Dutch sailors.
