Salerno Youth Week
Salerno

Steep waves and fresh breeze welcomed the first official day of the 4th Salerno Youth Week, the match race event organised by the Circolo Canottieri Irno yesterday morning and two flights were completed.
The competitors were:
De CURTIS (USA) vs. ANDRESEN (GER)
MICALLI (ITA) vs. CORNAH (GBR)
NIEMI (FIN) vs. GALLO (ITA)
CAMPBELL-JAMES (GBR) vs. HOKIMOTO (JPN).

DE CURTIS' "aggressive" racing style led to a victory against ANDRESEN and Paul CAMPBELL-JAMES, the highest-ranked among the event's participants, performed outstandingly, giving HOKIMOTO no chance to win. The other winners of yesterday's match races were CORNAH and NIEMI.

The Salerno Gulf hosted a great day with match-race-fans following the event from the sea-promenade and boats.

Racing continues today and the semi-finals and finals are scheduled for Friday and Saturday respectively.
