Jim Beam Funboard Slalom World Championships 2006
Alacati, Turkey

After five days the Jim Beam IFCA Slalom World Championships in Alacati, Turkey drew to a close with Finian MAYNARD (IVB) and Verena FAUSTER (ITA) crowned as IFCA Slalom World Champions 2006.
Not less than 91 competitors from 23 nations participated in the event. After a tough fight on the water Finian MAYNARD from the British Virgin Islands won the mens IFCA Slalom World Title in front of Antoine ALBEAU (FRA) and Kevin PRITCHARD (USA).

Verena FAUSTER (ITA) is the new IFCA Slalom Women World Champion with the Australian Allison SHREEVE and Karin JAGGI (SUI) on her heels.

The Masters fleet was won by Massimo MASSERINI (ITA) while Pascal SOMERS (BEL) dominated the youth fleet.

Unfortunately, the wind did not materialise on the final day and with the bay of Alacati glassy, the race committee eventually had to raise AP over A and the titles were decided.
