The last day of racing promised to be intense with the struggle between Telefónica MoviStar and Siemens Mobil both having the chance of winning the title of IMS 600 World Champion.
As in the previous days, the lack of wind was again the biggest problem, and when the first race was finally started, it was abandoned one hour later after a huge windshift. At about 1500 the first race of the day finally started and finished without a problem. Pedro Campos on Telefónica MoviStar led from start to finish, and more importantly for him: Siemens Mobile could only manage a fourth place.
A second windward/leeward was raced to get the last necessary point to achieve the final 6.5, enough to get the World Championship, despite many of the crews needing to fly out of the venue only a few hours later
Nothing changed in the last race, Pedro Campos led again, in despite of the best efforts of Siemens Mobile, enevtually finishing in second place on the race, not enough to win the Worlds, won by Pedro Campos and Telefónica MoviStar, his eighth world championship win.
