11th Singapore Straits Regatta
Singapore

The 11th Singapore Straits Regatta is held to coincide with the North-East Monsoon, providing excellent high performance racing conditions of steady breeze and great weather. This year the regatta will follow a new format with all races being held in the waters off Changi Sailing Club and Nongsa Point Marina
The Regatta is open to racing yachts, cruising yachts and sportsboats, and will include a Premier Cruising Class, which will race over ocean courses in the Singapore Straits and Riau waters. A variety of course formats will be adopted to ensure the highest level of competition. Participating yachts will be divided into six classes, IRC A, IRC B, Sportsboat, Premier Cruising, Performance Handicap and One Design. Any yacht with three entries in the Racing Classes, one in Class A, one in Class B and one in Class C (or two in Class B in there are insufficient entries in Class C to form a class) will be eligible to participate in the Inter-Club Trophy.

The regatta is a Singapore Sailing event and is organised by Riau Yacht Club in conjunction with the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club, Changi Sailing Club, Raffles Marina and SAF Yacht Club. Registration will get underway tomorrow 15 January, with measurement begining on Sunday 16. The first race - a passage race from Changi to Nongsa will kick off at 14:00 on Wednesday 19 January with seven more race scheduled for the next four days.
