Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race 2005
Sydney, Australia

Applications for entry to the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race have now officially closed, with 89 applications to enter the iconic race received. An extension for late applications has been granted and applications received between this evening and 1700 hours local time on Wednesday 9 November will be accepted without incurring a late fee.
However, applications accepted after 1700 on 9 November and to 1700 on 18 November will incur a late fee of $530.

'We understand there may be quite a few yachts who are planning to enter but who, for various reasons, have not been able to lodge their application by the 4 November deadline,' said the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia's (CYCA) Commodore Geoff LAVIS.

'We've got a terrific fleet of 89 applicant entrants already, but of course we'd like to give everyone who has expressed interest in racing this year the chance to be on the starting line on Boxing Day, so we've extended the deadline to accept those late entries.'
