Director Of Sailing/Instructor, National Team Coach And Assistant Instructor Sought
The Bahamas Sailing Association (BSA) is the ISAF Member Nation Authority (MNA) for the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and a non profit organization. The BSA would like to employ a full time Sailing Director/Instructor, a National Youth Team Coach and are also looking for an Assistant Instructor.
The Bahamas Sailing Association (BSA) is seeking to build a youth sailing programme within the context of the school system providing instruction in Optimist, Laser, Sunfish and small Keelboats. There are currently some 70 Optimists in three locations within the Bahamas and this year the BSA held a very successful summer programme in the Optimist culminating in their first Optimist National Championship with 39 entries. Their goal for the coming year is to commence the school programme in the Spring and the adult learn to sail programme sometime thereafter.
Employment will commence from 1 January 2006, or as soon thereafter as possible, for a minimum of one year.
Applicants for Sailing Director/Instructor should be experienced instructors (minimum five years) with internationally recognized qualifications for teaching dinghy and small keelboat sailing. Learn to sail and advance coaching skills are necessary.
Applicants for Assistant Instructors must be qualified to at least Level One US Sailing or equivalent.
Applicants for either position should also be computer literate and be able to produce clean health and police certificates. Salary will be commensurate with experience with housing provided.
