Imperia Winter Regatta 2005

Imperia, Italy

The new 2005 Imperia Winter Regatta website, www.i-w-r.com, is now online. The event will take place from 8-11 December in Imperia, Italy and will feature racing in the 470s, 420s, Laser and Laser Radial. It is an ISAF Grade 3 event for 470 men and women events.

The 2005 Imperia Winter Regatta new website, www.i-w-r.com, has been completely revised and now contains the Notice of Race and Entry Forms as well as a schedule of the events and details about accommodation.

It will also be possible to register for the event directly on the website. The site also feature information on Imperia and an event history. Results will be available online during the races, updated day per day.

Imperia Winter Regatta will be held in Imperia, in the north west Italy. The town is in a magnificent position, in a mild and windy weather zone, ideal for sailing. Event organizers Porto Maurizio Yacht Club and Lega Navale Italiana sez. di Imperia will do their utmost to make it a great regatta for all the people who join the IWR 2005.

Lithuania's Juozas Bernotas came out on top in the Men's RS:X whilst Russia's Stefania Elfutina was triumphant in the Women's RS:X. Both sailors claim the first Abu Dhabi ISAF Sailing World Cup Final spots whilst Jock Calvert (AUS) and Joanna Sterling (AUS) picked up the Oceanic spots for the Emirati finale.

A tight group of five young Papua New Guinean (PNG) Laser sailors are stepping up their 2015 Pacific Games competition program using this week's ISAF Sailing World Cup Melbourne. PNG is one of 33 countries represented at the important Oceanic event, the largest Olympic sailing regatta in the southern hemisphere.
