ISAF International Judges Conference
Southampton

ISAF will be hosting an International Judges Conference at its Southampton Headquarters from 21 - 23 March 2003, the main focus of which will be the education of International Judges in relation to RRS 42.
Leading to an ultimate goal of achieving a consistent and accurate approach to the policing of the rule worldwide, among the topics being discussed will be a review of RRS 42 and modifications, problem areas and interpretations from the Racing Rules Committee, and different perspectives on judging the rule. Other areas being covered include jury policies, and redress, in particular redress for OCS.

Headed up by John Doerr (GBR, IJ, ISAF Race Officials Committee), a group of experienced International Judges have been appointed to present the programme at the Conference. They are:

Steve Tupper CAN, IJ, ISAF Race Officials Committee Chairman
Pertti Lipas FIN, IJ, ISAF Racing Rules Committee Working Party
Bernard Bonneau FRA, IJ, ISAF Racing Rules Committee Working Party
Jeff Martin GBR, IJ
Bill O'Hara IRL, IJ

Each Member National Authority is invited to send one delegate, who should ideally be an International Judge with experience of dealing with RRS 42. All International Judges that attend the Conference will be expected to organise a seminar in their respective Member National Authorities, in order to disseminate the information to as many people as possible.
