In the November Conference Overview Report published on 21 November 2001, a statement was made regarding the Chairman of International Juries and nationality. Please note the following clarification on this situation.
The change that the Jury Chairman of an International Jury shall not be from the country of the Organising Committee, only applies for Special Events and Recognised Events. It
does not apply apply for all events where there is an international jury.
We apologise for not making this regulation change quite clear in the Overview Report.
The decision of the ISAF Council, was to amend ISAF Regulation 18.11.2(a) and (b) as follows:
(a) In the case of Special Events as defined below, ISAF shall exercise the right to appoint the Race Officials selected for these events. ISAF shall not appoint a jury chairman who is from the country of the Organizing Authority of the event.
(b) In the case of Recognized Events as defined below, ISAF shall exercise the right to approve the Race Officials selected for these events. ISAF shall not approve a jury chairman from the country of the Organizing Authority of the event.
