Race 2 started with the wind at 6 knots from 235 degrees. It was soon apparent that current was the major factor as the boats that headed left off the line avoided the brunt of it. John ROBERTSON, the Paralympic representative from GBR benefited the most as he hit the left side hard and led the entire race comfortably. Back in the pack, Shepstone, Ross-Duggan and Galloway moved up steadily, trading places up and down the legs, but finally taking the next three positions in that order. The Israeli Paralympic team finished fifth making three of the top five finishers Paralympic competitors.

Race 3 went off to a similar start, but this time most of the fleet, all the wiser to the current, headed left. This time however, the current was less a factor than the shifts and pressure. Crane/Sweeney worked this to perfection, grabbing the lead on the first run, a lead, which they would not relinquish. Right on their heels were more Paralympians however, with Ross-Duggan, John ROBERTSON, Jens KROKER, and Keith BURHANS applying pressure as well as Jim MILLER in his brand new Sonar. Meanwhile, Galloway and Shepstone struggled in the middle with the latter finding dark clouds on the deep right of the final beat much to his liking as he passed about six boats to finish seventh with Galloway 11.

The top five finishers were Crane/Sweeney, Ross-Duggan, Ed SHERMAN, Jim MILLER and Keith BURHANS.

After three races, John Ross-Duggan has a commanding lead of 7 points over Steve Shepstone, With Galloway, Robertson and Miller in a three way tie for third one point back.

Today's forecast is only slightly better than Tuesday's. If similar conditions persist, don't be suprised to see another Day of the Disabled.
