Sail the World Weekend
Palestine

Sailing Palestine held a junior course during the last week of August and on the Sail the World weekend of 1-2 September there were sailing activities on the beach. Damaged boats were repaired and in spite of the siege imposed on Gaza, Sailing Palestine held friendly races for its sailors.
These activities held under patronage with M. Majed Abu Ramadan, Gaza mayor in the marine club. The logo of ISAF in addition to the logo of the Sail the World Weekend were raised on this historic day, with compreheinsive media coverage .

We invited the sailors and the people to share us and to share the Sail the World weekend, many people were happy; the kids, the youth male and female are very interested and excited to learn to sail so Sailing Palestine is working hard to get more boats, especially Optimists for the youngest new sailing fans.

Thank you again for helping ISAF celebrate 100 years of sailing - let's get out there and Sail the World!

"I am very proud to be President of the International Sailing Federation as we celebrate 100 years. What is evident is that the past one hundred years mark a period of vibrant and exciting growth for sailing. A period when the spirit of solidarity, friendship and passion for sailing has prevailed over borders, religions, genders and cultures. This weekend of 1-2 September, the "Sail the World" celebrations capture the very spirit of sailing. I am delighted at the number of events, clubs and classes all over the world partnering with ISAF as we join together to "Sail the World."' Göran PETERSSON
