Sail the World Weekend
Punta del Este, Uruguay

On Sunday the Yacht Club Punta del Este celebrated the ISAF centenary with sailing school racing in their home waters. It was a cloudy and foggy day (we are at the end of our winter), but our little sailors were so exited that we sailed three reggatas.
Some of them had only three lessons, and some had experience in South American Champinships. Parents were allowed to join the Race Committee boat and they started the races, so everyone was involved.

We had a great day, and someone remembered that our home town of Punta del Este is also celebrating 100 years this year - a double celebration!

Happy birthday ISAF!

Thank you again for helping ISAF celebrate 100 years of sailing - let's get out there and Sail the World!

"I am very proud to be President of the International Sailing Federation as we celebrate 100 years. What is evident is that the past one hundred years mark a period of vibrant and exciting growth for sailing. A period when the spirit of solidarity, friendship and passion for sailing has prevailed over borders, religions, genders and cultures. This weekend of 1-2 September, the "Sail the World" celebrations capture the very spirit of sailing. I am delighted at the number of events, clubs and classes all over the world partnering with ISAF as we join together to "Sail the World."' Göran PETERSSON
