Mediocre, Passable

So, I like having a desktop client for web apps that I use often, like Twitter. For me, and my workflow, it’s just easier than having to jump across tabs in my browser.

I used TweetDeck for awhile, but the massive flood of information proved too much, and I’m no longer managing any organizational accounts, so that became pretty useless. I think if I were to go back to running organizational accounts, I’d use HootSuite.

Anyways, this app works well for reading and posting from a personal account, but it’s definitely not high priority at Twitter HQ. It lacks the functionality of the iOS app, and updates seem to be few and far between. Hopefully, the team will give it some more attention, and at least keep pace with development of the mobile apps, but for now, it’s simply passable.

Not as powerful as it could be.

This is a great program for keeping up with your twitter feed. This app is great for reading and simple posting, but not much else. The search feature is clumsy, and many of the new features on the mobile app like seeing fav and RT numbers doesn’t exist here. You also have to navigate to the website for many features like an embedding links. So while it is great as a reader, it lacks a few features that could make it better. Also, as someone who advertises on twitter, since this app doesn’t show ads or sponsored tweets, I like that as a user, but dislike it as an advertiser.

Eats Up Ram

So everything with the app is fine except for when i have had the app open for a few hours it eats up like 4gb of my ram i have 8gb of ram
it takes a while for it to eat up my ram because the first 2 hours of having it open it only takes about 2gb gb ram then a few hours later it takes up 4gb of my ram then i quit the app and i gain about 4gb of ram back so i know it’s this twiiter app doing this.
