Terms of Use

This site is owned by "Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera", hereinafter referred to as IPMA, with its headquarters in Lisbon, Rua C ao Aeroporto de Lisboa, 1749-077 LISBOA.
IPMA operates this site with the purpose of improving public access to meteorological, climatological, geophysical and fishing activities information.
On accessing this site, the user expressly agrees with the terms and conditions below established by IPMA. Any misuse of the site is unlawful and subject to penalty.
IPMA reserves to itself the right to change this site, as well as the access to it, without previous warning, disclaiming responsibility for any damage or loss, whatever their nature, caused by discontinuity or unavailability of the site.
IPMA does not guarantee that its site is free from viruses or other elements that may affect the computer systems of the Users or any files or documents stored therein, and so will not be liable for any damage or loss in this context.
Any attempt to change information contents or download, or any other action that may cause damage and/or risk to the integrity of the system, is strictly forbidden by Law and is subject to penalty.
Users may be liable for whatever damage and loss the IPMA may suffer due to incompliance with any duty to which they are bound in the terms of this Legal Warning.
IPMA reserves to itself the right to refuse or withdraw access to its site to the Users that do not comply with the terms of the Legal Warning.

Disclaimer

The contents of this site are composed of general information material, which is simply indicative and exclusively designed to enable the Users to adequately utilise the set of products and services provided by IPMA.
The site of IPMA is in certain cases linked to external sites that are under no control by this Institute, and for which IM does not take any responsibility.
All contents provided by external entities, duly identified, are exclusive responsibility of those entities.
However endeavouring to link to sites with high level of reliability, IPMA cannot provide any guaranty concerning their accuracy or updating. An aim of this site is to minimise inconvenience caused by technical errors; however, some data or information contained in it may have been developed or structured in files or formats not free from errors.
IPMA cannot ensure that the service will not be interrupted or disturbed by technical problems.

The User can freely copy, import or use information or national symbols in this site for personal or public use, provided that for no purposes of profit or offence.

The User must always mention the source of the information.
Concerning the sites linked to IPMA, authorisation by the authors of such material should be obtained, or reference to the source should be made, in accordance with the respective copyright terms.
Copyright is not applicable to speeches, statements or reports by IPMA staff members, although mention should be made to authors, date and circumstances, for the sake of proper information.
The logo symbol of the site of IPMA should be used whenever a User intends to include information made available by the site in pages of hypertext documents, and the hyperlink should be referred to the site of IPMA.

Confidentiality

In accordance with Article 35 of CRP and with Law No. 67/98, of 26 October, the information gathered on Users of the site of IPMA is not of a personal kind, so the confidentiality of the visitor’s identity is guaranteed.
However, identification of the Users will take place if they perform illegal actions within the site, violating the code of behaviour, or if required as a result of court decision.
IPMA commits itself to take all necessary measures to avoid loss, misuse or alteration of the information received from the users.
Should the visitor send a message to the site of IPMA, his address will not be recorded or divulged, except when required as a result of court sentence.
