Push the Boat Out at Snettisham Beach SC 

May is National Watersports Month and Snettisham Beach Sailing Club near Kings Lynn is hoping to get as many people as possible out on the water on for the RYA’s Push the Boat Out event.

On 10 May 2014 the club will be opening its doors and inviting people of all ages and abilities to come along and have a go at sailing.    

Whether you’re completely new to the sport, looking to get back on the water or sail regularly Snettisham Beach will be one of the many sailing clubs and centres across the country taking part in RYA Push the Boat Out weekend. The event will see hundreds of people taking part in the sport at open days, have a go sessions and fun events for all the family.   

Starting at 12.00 at there will be a whole host of activities taking place including sailing taster session, the chance to talk to RYA instructors about how to start and progress in sailing, check out the club’s facilities, and relax with an all day bar and barbecue. Visitors should bring soft shoes and a change of clothing.   

Natalie Miller from the club said: “We are delighted to be taking part in the RYA Push the Boat Out, we are inviting the local community to come down to the club, have a go at sailing, see what the club has to offer and get involved. Who knows if you visit you might just get hooked! “   

RYA Sport Development Manager Duncan Truswell said “Push the Boat Out provides the perfect opportunity for people to discover their local sailing venue, meet key volunteers and like-minded people, have a go at the sport and find out how much fun it is and how easy it is to get involved.”
