The British Paralympic Association (BPA) sends condolences to the family and friends of Paralympian James Sands, who sadly passed away last week.

James represented his country at both the 1988 Seoul Paralympic Games and the 1992 Games in Barcelona. A career highlight came on his Paralympic debut in Seoul, where he claimed gold in the men’s Cross Country 3000m (C6). Four years later in Barcelona he narrowly missed out on a podium spot in the men’s 5000m (C5>8), finishing in 4th place.

The BPA are thinking of his friends and family at this sad time.
