Proudly supporting the RYA and RNLI
We have been working closely with the RYA and RNLI for many years providing insurance solutions for members along with supporting both organisations through funding and sponsorship.
About the RYA
As one of the country’s largest most well respected recreational boating associations, the RYA represent sailing at various levels and set the syllabus for a number of training schemes.
We have been proud supporters of the RYA since 1987 and work closely with them to develop our range of
members. Whether it’s a small dinghy or yacht through to motorboats and large super-yachts, RYA members benefit from superb levels of cover and discounted premiums. We also provide travel insurance including multi-trip and RYA Gold members can enjoy additional benefits including increased cover limits.

About the RNLI
The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates over 230 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and has more than 160 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824 its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 139,000 lives.
Bishop Skinner is a long-term dedicated supporter of the RNLI, raising a substantial £560,000 over the last 11 years for the charity that saves lives at sea. Bishop Skinner continue to raise funds through commission on insurance premiums. RNLI members receive a 10% discount on their marine insurance and the RNLI receives 2.5% of the premium.
In previous years, the funds raised by Bishop Skinner have contributed towards the running of the RNLI’s 24 hour lifesaving service. The money raised has also contributed towards the development of the charity’s booklet, Sea Safety: The Complete Guide, which offers free advice for anyone going afloat.
