What happens next
A decision on the application for a development consent order for Kings Lynn B Connection Project was taken on 18 December 2013 and has now been issued. The statement of reasons can be viewed here.
The period for legal challenge is defined in s118 of the Planning Act 2008. Further information about legal challenge can be found in the letter sent to all interested parties accompanying the statement of reasons.

The Examining Authority has issued its recommendation to the Secretary of State. A decision will be published on or before 10 January 2014. Please note that the Examining Authority’s recommendation will also be made available at that point.
The examination has now closed. There will now be a period of 3 months for the Examining Authority to consider and make a recommendation to the Secretary of State. See letter sent to interested parties.
The applicant’s response to comments on the ‘preferred draft development consent order’ was received for the deadline of 8 July 2013.

Responses to the Examining Authority’s Fourth Written Questions have been published (deadline of 21 June 2013)
A letter has been issued from the Examining Authority about a minor variation made to the examination timetable, giving interested parties an opportunity to comment on a late response from English Heritage.
Comments on the further revised draft development consent order and all comments on responses to the Examining Authority’s third round of written questions have been published.
The Examining Authority has issued a letter that includes:
- Fourth round of Examining Authority questions
- Variation to the remainder of the examination timetable
- A note of unaccompanied site visits undertaken during June 2013
The Examining Authority has received written confirmation that Network Rail has agreed terms with the Applicant; and the Applicant has decided to withdraw its Section 127 Certificate application. The relevant correspondence may be found on the project documents page within the tab marked ‘Section 127 Application’.
The Examining Authority has issued a letter that includes:
- Variation to the remainder of the examination timetable
- Notification of the dates, times and places of hearings
- A note of unaccompanied site visits undertaken during April 2013

The Examining Authority has published a Report on the Implications for European Sites and a letter to interested parties.
Interested Parties are invited to submit any comments they may have on this document by Tuesday 28 May 2013.
