From Monday through to Friday 11 October, the Mega portion of the regatta includes the Hobie 16,17,18, 20, the Hobie Tiger and the Hobie Fox.

The Mega event will have competitors from 11 countries, including Europe, Australia, and several South American countries. Additionally the event will qualify the teams to represent the USA, Canada and some of the South American countries for the Pan American games.

On day one on Friday the race committee gave the sailors 3 races. One race after the skippers meeting and then back to shore for a brief rainstorm. Two more races followed in moderate breeze of 10-12. A total of 56 boats (18 H14/13 Women/17 Youth/6 Waves) in the "mini" regatta. The hot fleet of the day was the very competitive H14 fleet. The appearance of many past champions in several different classes was also great to see.

Three races were held yesterday on the Mini Course with the Pan Am racers going for 4. Things are tight in the Pan Am race between Wally and Tyler Myers and Paul and Maryann Hess.

The races on the mini course in the Women's Division were very competitive all day long with the wind steadily picking up during the 3 races. It was a hot day on the water with increasing Boat Traffic in the bay. The races in the Youth Division are very close.

Racing starts today at 11 AM for both the Mini and Pan Am courses. Wind is predicted to be light, but hopefully like yesterday it will pick up later in the day. It will be a busy day since all boats will need to be moved to the Gulf Side after sailing if they are participating in the Mega
