The TOSHIBA International OK Dinghy World Championship will be a ten race series sailed on Lake Macquarie between 11 and 17 February. Entries are expected from England, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Poland, India, USA, New Zealand and Australia making up the maximum World Championship fleet of 80 boats. The current World Champion, Great Britain's Nick CRAIG, will compete to endeavour to defend the title he won in Denmark earlier this year.
The TOSHIBA International OK Dinghy Australian & Interdominion Championships will be contested over seven races in the week preceding the World Championship event.
Lake Macquarie offers a superb sailing area and the facilities at Belmont 16ft Sailing Club are among the World's best. A very experienced race management crew headed by Kevin WILSON and his 2000 Sydney Olympic's team will assist the organisers with the control of the Championships. The International Jury for the World Championship will be headed by Athens 2004 Olympic's Judge, Ralph ROBERTS from New Zealand.
