Sports that many have never heard of let alone tried were thrust into the spotlight after unprecedented television coverage and British success.

Rugby players are now the epitome of fitness, with size, speed, strength and power contributing hugely to the modern game.

Coverage of sport in Britain in terms of television coverage has never been greater. Whenever you turn on Sky Sports or BT Sport, you are unlikely to be more than a couple of hours from some sort of live event, with Sky Sports News on air 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
