Dick Costolo, Chief Executive Officer

Dick Costolo (COS-tow-low) is the CEO of Twitter, where he is responsible for the growth and management of the global business. Since he became CEO in 2010, the global active user base has quadrupled to more than 255 million monthly active users; the company has tripled in size, and has opened offices around the world. Under Dick’s leadership, Twitter introduced “Promoted Tweets” — contextual advertising based on user interests displayed in Tweets — to increase revenue for the company. Besides its growing effectiveness as a business, Twitter is today renowned as a real-time platform that enables people and organizations to publicly share brief messages instantly around the world, a vital tool in an increasingly global society.

Dick joined Twitter in 2009 as Chief Operating Officer, responsible for both monetization and day-to-day operations. Previously, he was co-founder and CEO of FeedBurner, a digital content syndication platform that was acquired by Google in 2007. Prior to that, Dick founded two digital media companies in Chicago: SpyOnIt, a web page monitoring service, and Burning Door Networked Media, a web design and development consulting company. He was also an improv performer with the acclaimed Annoyance Theater. Mike Gupta, Chief Financial Officer


As Chief Financial Officer of Twitter, Inc. Mike oversees the company’s financial operations. Prior to joining Twitter in November 2012, he was Senior Vice President, Finance and Treasurer at Zynga Inc. where he ran a variety of financial functions including Investor Relations, Financial Planning and Analysis, Treasury and Corporate Finance. Earlier, Mike spent eight years at Yahoo! Inc. in a variety of financial roles, most recently as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, Finance and Treasury.

Previously in his career, Mike was Vice President in the investment banking division of Merrill Lynch & Co. and a Senior Auditor and C.P.A. at KPMG. He received his M.B.A. with honors from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and B.S. in Accounting and Economics (magna cum laude) from New York University’s Stern School of Business. Adam Bain, President of Global Revenue

Adam oversees Twitter’s worldwide monetization efforts and the rollout of its advertising platform. Prior to joining Twitter in 2010, he served as President of the Fox Audience Network (FAN), a role in which he oversaw a division that includes one of the web’s largest advertising platforms and a team dedicated to monetizing News Corporation’s web properties and hundreds of third-party online publishers.

Previously, Adam served as Fox Interactive Media’s original Chief Technology Officer, and helped spearhead acquisitions of MySpace, IGN, Photobucket, and Scout Media. He began his career with News Corp running the technology and product divisions at FOXSports.com, and previously served in several roles within the online news industry, including stints at latimes.com and Cleveland.com. In September 2012, Adam was listed as #1 in “AdWeek’s 50” ranking of indispensable industry talent. He serves on the board of the Ad Council and is a member of their Executive Committee. Adam Messinger, Chief Technology Officer

As CTO, Adam is responsible for long term technology direction and overseeing our technical architecture. He was previously VP of Application Development, where he led various teams, including mobile and web apps, design, search, relevance, and advertising. Prior to joining Twitter in 2011, Adam was Vice President of Development at Oracle where he led the development of Java and Exalogic. Earlier in his career he worked at O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures, WebLogic, Organic, and the Santa Fe Institute.

Vijaya Gadde, General Counsel

Vijaya Gadde (VIJ-ee-yah GAD-ee) is Twitter’s General Counsel. She previously served as a Legal Director at Twitter, where she managed the international and corporate legal teams. Prior to joining Twitter in 2011, Vijaya was Senior Director, Legal at Juniper Networks; previously, for nearly a decade, she was an associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. While at WSGR, Vijaya acted as counsel to the New York Stock Exchange’s Proxy Working Group and Committee on Corporate Governance.

Daniel Graf, Vice President of Product

Daniel leads the Consumer Product Team at Twitter. Previously, he led consumer-side development for Google Maps and Google Local. He joined Google in 2011 in an entrepreneurial role as director of Google’s Mobile Apps Lab. In that role, he managed both engineering and product development. Prior to Google, he was CEO and co-founder of Kyte, a mobile and online video platform.

Alex Roetter, Vice President of Engineering

Alex is responsible for engineering at Twitter, including the core Twitter services, software infrastructure and operations. Prior to joining Twitter in 2010, he was Director of Engineering at the Laufer Wind Group, developing radar technology for renewable energy applications.

Earlier, he spent seven years at Google as a software engineer and technical lead, on the founding team for AdSense and later on a variety of systems and ads quality projects.

Gabriel Stricker, Chief Communications Officer

Gabriel is Chief Communications Officer at Twitter, where he leads its consumer marketing, global media and global public relations efforts. Prior to joining Twitter in 2012, Gabriel worked as Director of Global Communications and Public Affairs at Google. Gabriel refined his expertise in strategic communications through his work in the electoral arena, having played a key role on campaigns for political and governmental clients around the world.

Gabriel received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley and his master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University. Colin Crowell, Vice President, Global Public Policy

Colin Crowell is Vice President of Global Public Policy for Twitter, Inc. In this role, Colin oversees Twitter’s efforts to educate policymakers on Twitter’s services and policies and manages the company’s public policy agenda on a host of high tech issues in Washington, D.C. and internationally.

Prior to joining Twitter, Colin served for over 20 years as a telecommunications and Internet staffer to U.S. Representative Edward J. Markey (D-MA), the longtime Chairman and Ranking Democrat on the House Telecommunications & Internet Subcommittee. Subsequent to working on Capitol Hill, Colin was Senior Counselor to Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski, assisting in the development of the National Broadband Plan, and serving as the Chairman’s strategic advisor on a wide range of policy matters including wireless policy, Internet freedom, user privacy, broadband deployment and competition, among others.

Prior to working in Washington, Colin was a Jesuit International Volunteer in Arequipa, Peru, where he taught mathematics and English at a Jesuit high school and helped run a community soup kitchen. Kevin Weil, Vice President of Revenue Products 

Kevin Weil is the Vice President of Revenue Products at Twitter, where his team is responsible for developing and refining Twitter’s monetization products. Previously, he led the company’s analytics team.

Prior to Twitter, Kevin was the first employee at web media startup Cooliris, working in user growth and advertising-focused analytics. He has also worked at municipal wireless network provider Tropos Networks and Microsoft Research and, in a past life, as a physics Ph.D. student at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. Brian “Skip” Schipper, Vice President of Human Resources 

Skip is responsible for leading the human resources team at Twitter, including setting the strategy and delivering the support to make Twitter the best company to work for. Prior to joining Twitter in 2014, he was head of Human Resources at Groupon, Inc. where he led the global HR and administrative functions. Earlier, he led HR at Cisco and was in senior HR positions at Microsoft, DoubleClick, PepsiCo and Compaq Computer Corp.
