Natural England’s strategy, direction and performance are overseen by our Board.
The Chief Executive and Executive Board provide operational leadership to Natural England’s staff, ensuring resources are allocated accordingly.

Nigel Reader CBE reappointed as a Board member of Natural England
(2 June 2014) The Environment Secretary, Owen Paterson, has reappointed Mr Nigel Reader CBE as a Board member of Natural England for a further three years from 1 June 2014.

Dave Webster leaving Natural England to join Defra
(16 May 2014) Natural England and Defra confirmed today that Acting Chief Executive Dave Webster will be leaving Natural England on 18 July to take on a new executive role within Defra.

Professor David Hill’s appointment extended to 30 September 2014
(1 April 2014) The Environment Secretary, Owen Paterson, has decided to further extend Professor David Hill’s current appointment, as a board member and deputy chair of Natural England, by six months to 30 September 2014.
