Dogger Bank Creyke Beck application with Planning Inspectorate

The Planning Inspectorate has accepted Forewind’s development consent order application for the first stage of offshore wind energy development on the Dogger Bank Zone.

Have your say

You can read the application documents and register with the Planning Inspectorate to become an “interested party” so you can make your comments. The deadline for registering is 8 November 2013.

Proposed development

Dogger Bank Creyke Beck (previously known as Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm) is the first stage of Forewind’s offshore wind energy development of the Dogger Bank Zone.

It will comprise two wind farms, each with an installed capacity of up to 1.2GW, which are expected to connect to the national grid in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

The offshore wind farms will be located in the Dogger Bank Zone which is located between 125km to 290km off the coast of East Yorkshire.

The onshore elements of the development will be located in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

What happens next?

This stage of the Planning Inspectorate application process lasts for approximately three months. During the pre-examination stage, members of the public can:

  • Provide their views in writing (this is time-limited towards the beginning of this period)
  • Read the views of others who have registered
  • Comment on the views that other people have provided
  • Attend the preliminary meeting
  • Request an open floor hearing is held and ask to speak at it

At the preliminary meeting, the Examining Authority will decide which issues the examination will focus upon and the timetable for the examination.

These details will be sent to all who have registered a relevant representation and will be published on the Dogger Bank Creyke Beck project page of the National Infrastructure Planning website. Details will also be available on request from DBCreykeBeck@infrastructure.gsi.gov.uk and via the helpline: 0303 444 5000.

Final consultation announced for Dogger Bank Teesside A & B

The final phase of pre-application public consultation for Forewind’s second stage of offshore wind energy development, Dogger Bank Teesside A & B, will run from Monday 4 November to 20 December 2013.

The consultation, which starts with the publication of documents, plans and maps about the proposed development, will also include three public events to be held in venues near the proposed landfall and cable route, at Redcar and Lazenby.

Make your views known

This is another opportunity for stakeholders and members of the public to view and comment on the proposals before the consent application is submitted to the Planning Inspectorate and to give those who have a view on the project another chance to influence the way Dogger Bank Teesside A & B is developed.

Forewind’s consultation documents will be available to view at the public events, at local libraries during the consultation period and to download from www.forewind.co.uk together with electronic feedback forms.

You should submit a written response to the consultation if there is anything you wish to be considered when this application is submitted for examination.
