Cuban Lester Luiz Hernandez Martinez will sail a Byte Cll competitively for only the second time in the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games.
The 16-year-old is the Under 18 Cuban national champion in Laser Radials, and earned his place for Singapore when he finished eighth in the Central American Championships in George Town, Cayman Islands.

Lester Luis Hernández Martínez is originally from Villa Clara, but now attends the national sailing school in Havana.

Back home, he is coached by compatriot Maricela Duarte, but he will be looked after by Cuban national coach Carlos Hermada (CUB) for the duration of the Games.

Cuba's girls Byte Cll sailor, Sanlay Castro de la Cruz has been sailing for seven years, and attends the Centro Nacional de la Vela (national sailing school) in Havana.

The 16-year-old from Villa Claros qualified for Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games at the Central American Championships in Havana. She has only sailed in a Byte once before, but regularly competes in Optimist.
