    Windy Weymo!

Currently sat at the Performance Unit in Weymouth with 40kts + of wind whistling around the yachts on the hard-standing and literally through the front door of the building, it's the windiest it’s been all of March!

Glamour sailing again today out here in Palma. 12 knots, big waves and sunny. We had a little bit of practice racing today with a good bunch of the top foreign teams.

    Beach Fitness

This week has been the last chance for myself and the rest of the sports science team to train the sailors and ensure they are in top shape ready for  Princess Sofia regatta on Sunday.  This week has a different feel to it in that it signals the end of winter training period and the transition to regatta race training.

    Some Tips from Musto

Last day of training before Palma starts on Sunday, saw 20 - 27 knots offshore meaning that the day was very wet in 2.4 land! We spent the morning in the gym getting tired and then spent some time with John from Musto who are the official clothing supplier for the team and silver sponsor.

    Draper-Greenhalgh: Palma Pre-event

Well, today was a good reminder how lucky we are to do what we do. It would be safe to say it was an epic day on the water. 18-22 knots and huge waves.

    Day one

Early start today with the finn team. Due to excessive weight training, and training in general this week we have decided to do morning yoga!  Now for clarity there was absolutely no lycra allowed, but it was quite amusing watching a bunch of big guys assuming quite delicate positions!

New chapter for the 49er squad

Spring has sprung in the UK and that usually means it’s time to head to Palma. Once again the hub of Spanish sailing is the setting of the first European event of the year and the venue for the climax of Skandia Team GBR’s winter training program. For the 49’er squad, it’s time to rebuild after the disappointments of the Worlds and start to focus on winning!

Palma training camp coming to a close

    Hey All,

So we are just finishing our training camp in Palma. We have had 8 solid days training out here. We have done the majority of the training with the Skandia Team GBR 49er squad. The last few days we have spent some time sailing against some of the foreign teams that are starting to arrive for the event and with our training partners Dylan Fletcher and Alain Sign.

The Big drive down to Palma is always makes us feel like the start of the new season! Although this year has been a bit backwards, as we have already done the worlds, there is still plenty more events.

Last week we were down in Weymouth whilst some of the squad were in Palma. Lets just say on the first day we were wondering why we stayed in the UK!
