1998 Giving Great Britain the edge
With help from National Lottery funding, Great Britain tops the medal table at the European Athletics Championships.
Three Christmas Dinners
The average athlete consumes the equivalent of three Christmas dinners every day. To make sure they're eating the right kind of calories, we support a team of nutritionists.

1999 Keeping Sascha in the fast lane
Two years after he starts receiving funding, Sascha Kindred brings home three Golds at the IPC European Championships. He goes on to win six Paralympic Gold medals.

National Lottery-funded Manchester Aquatics Centre opens
One of over 6,000 National Lottery funded sports facilities since 1994
Joanne Jackson swims 7,456 miles over four years, the equivalent of going to New York and back. We go the extra mile by supporting her to train full-time.

2003 Giving Bradley the ride of his life
Bradley Wiggins wins his first World Championship Gold at the Track Cycling World Championships in Germany. He goes onto win one Gold at Athens and two Golds at Beijing.

2004 Getting behind Kelly (Well, it's not like you could get in front of her)
With your support, Kelly Holmes wins Gold at Athens in the 800m and 1500m.

London scoops the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games ahead of Paris. Great Britain backs the bid and we continue to back our athletes.

The GB Wheelchair Basketball team goes through 100 tyres each year. We help cover the cost to keep them on the road to victory.

2009 Setting the stage for success
The National Lottery helps stage the Cycling World Cup in Manchester, where Victoria Pendleton wins Gold in the Women's Sprint.

Canoeist Ed McKeever lifts the equivalent of six blue whales every month. We provide world-class coaches to help him take the strain.

2011 Supporting Laura's support team
We provided physiotherapists and support staff to help Laura Bartlett, GB hockey player, recover quickly from her knee injury and return to the sport fitter than ever.
