Job Description
UK Sport is leading the drive to create World and Olympic champions in our role as the Nation’s High Performance sports agency responsible for investing in our brightest medal hopes. UK Sport’s investment and performance expertise played a pivotal role in delivering the amazing success achieved by British athletes at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Games. Our targets for Rio are even more ambitious.
An exciting and integral role has opened to support the Performance Advisor team within the UK Sport Performance Directorate. This is a demanding and dynamic role that will require a ‘hands on’ team player who will provide efficient business and project support to a very busy team working in an ever changing environment. The successful candidate will be able to use their own initiative and have exceptional planning and organisational skills.
Key Result Areas for this role will include:
- Supporting the Head of Performance Advisor and Deputy Director of Performance with the organisation and delivery of team activities and its interface with World Class Programmes.
- Co-ordinating and overseeing weekly diary management for the Head of Performance Advisor.
- Co-ordinating, collating and presenting regular updates of information from the Performance Advisors
- Accurate reporting and forecasting of budgets.
- Supporting the Performance Advisor Team as a central point of communication internally and externally.
- Developing agendas for internal and external team meetings; co-ordinating the communication of meeting outcomes and following up agreed actions.
- Attending monthly Performance Advisor team meetings (offsite from UK Sport London Offices), capturing minutes and communicating outcomes both within the team and cross departmentally.
- Specialist project support to Performance Advisors as required
The successful candidate will have the following competencies:
- Educated to A Level standard or equivalent
- Demonstrable administration/PA experience in a similar environment
- IT literate with advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Exceptional organisational skills
- Comfortable working with remote teams
- Experience of formal statistical analysis and presentation of data
- Strong written, oral and inter-personal communication skills
- Ability to use initiative and work proactively in a professional environment
Desirable criteria:
- Educated to degree level
- Experience of providing support to a remote team
- An interest in elite sport
