Heysham to M6 Link Road

About this project

Completion of the Heysham to M6 Link, a new dual carriageway link road, approximately 4.8 kms long, located to the north of Lancaster and connecting the junction of the A683 and A589 by Lancaster and Morecambe College with Junction 34 of the M6 motorway. The project also involves a fully remodelled junction 34, with new slip roads, a new bridge over the River Lune and a 600 space park and ride site.

An apology has been sent to Interested Parties for not making these documents available on the National Infrastructure Planning website at the time.

What happens next

A decision on the application for a development consent order for Heysham to M6 Link Road was taken on 19 March 2013 and has now been issued. The statement of reasons can be viewed here.
