Why EIS?

Why EIS?

 EIS Introduction film

National Governing Bodies of sport choose the EIS because of the unique value the Institute approach offers, including a network of multi-disciplinary expertise focused solely on performance, quality assurance and ongoing development of that expertise, value for money and access to state of the art equipment and facilities.

National Governing Bodies of sport choose the EIS because of the unique value the Institute approach offers and their desire to help build and sustain a world-leading high performance system post 2012.

Thanks to unprecedented amounts of public funding, British Olympic and Paralympic sport is a success story, unrecognisable from ten years ago.  Clearly the current system is working and sports recognise the need to build on that momentum which is why they choose EIS as their provider of choice for sport science and medicine.

Why EIS for Sports

1. An extensive network of internal and external expertise focused solely on performance impact
Through our network of nearly 250 sport science and medicine practitioners, the EIS has a unique network of expertise throughout England.  This coupled with the external expertise we work with ensures that EIS practitioners have access to a pool of talent across all disciplines that they can draw upon as well as a continual professional development package focused solely on the high performance sport environment – of which the EIS has nearly 10 years of experience.

2. Quality Assurance
Our investment in technical leadership ensures that each practitioner is part of an integrated quality assured network, which mentors and develops practitioners and technically drives the discipline forward.

3. Flexibility & Accessibility
EIS practitioners operate out of a network of EIS High Performance Centres and a number of additional partner sites around England. The fact that sports can choose to access support out of either a single site or across the network of sites ensures the support is flexible and accessible to the needs of different sports.

4. Access to state of the art equipment, facilities and systems

Through the funding support of UK Sport and Sport England we are able to invest in state-of-the-art equipment, facilities and infrastructural systems to support service delivery such as the capability to simulate a variety of competitive environments, superior diagnostic imaging equipment, on-line systems for injury recording and knowledge management and a secure medical data communication network.

5. Value for Money
As a not for profit organisation the organisation provides value for money for sports especially when also considering the unique value-added benefits listed above.

Why EIS for practitioners

For those working in sport science and medicine they choose the EIS because of the unique value the Institute approach offers them as developing practitioners. To become an integral part of that network of internal and external expertise, learning from each other across all disciplines and continually developing to be the best they can be and all with an absolute commitment to having a positive impact on sporting performance.
