DofE expedition areas

It is a DofE requirement that all expeditions in Wild Country are notified at least six weeks in advance (using the Green expedition notification form available here and through all Licensed Organisations) to the appropriate Assessor Network Co-ordinator, or four weeks if no Assessor is required. A copy should also be sent to your Licensed Organisation. It is stressed that these are MINIMUM time requirements and that the maximum advance notice should be given to allow time for postage, suggested changes and so on.

Assessment fees

Expedition Assessment Fees

Expedition Assessment Vouchers for the expedition season are now available.

The Fees for Assessments through the DofE Expedition Assessor Networks for the following season are as follows:
  • Bronze: £50*
  • Silver: £70
  • Gold: £90
These can be purchased via www.DofEshop.org and redeemed with one of our expedition networks.

There is no fee payable to the DofE if you use an Accredited Assessor who is not part of a DofE Assessment Network (though there is likely to be a charge made by the Assessor).

 * Due to high demand and the limited number of volunteer Assessors, DofE Assessor Networks often cannot offer assessments at Bronze level. Priority will always be given to Gold level expeditions, which must take place in Wild Country. Leaders considering requesting a Bronze level assessment from an Assessor Network should are encouraged to consider whether their participants are best served by undertaking an expedition in Wild Country. Leaders who wish to request a Bronze level assessment from an Assessor Network should contact the relevant Assessor Network Coordinator to check that an Assessor will be available before purchasing an Expedition Assessment Voucher.
