Current AAPs

Approved Activity Providers (AAP) are organisations, both commercial and charitable whose Expedition, Residential or Volunteering section opportunities have been approved by the DofE as meeting our sectional conditions and can count towards the achievement of a DofE Award.  AAPs are able to provide Assessors and sign off the section.

You can confidently use these organisations but please remember that it is your Licensed Organisation which has the final say on the suitability of a programme in terms of health and safety requirements and the DofE can give no assurances as to the financial stability of an AAP. When booking on to an open expedition the participant/parent/guardian may be responsible for evaluating the health and safety of the expedition as it is a private contract with the AAP.  Talk to your LO for advice.

Always remember to let your Licensed Organisation know you are using an AAP and ensure that notification/health and safety approval paperwork is submitted where appropriate. This may not be the case for privately booked open expeditions, check with your Licenced Organisation in advance to see if they require notification paperwork.

For information on how to become an AAP click here.

The Expedition section must be delivered either directly by Licensed Organisations (LO) through their LO licence or through AAPs. Expeditions not delivered by an LO and their staff/volunteers must be delivered through a licensed AAP.

Expedition section

We have so many Expedition AAPs that we have broken the list down by Region/Country. These are placed by the Region/Country in which they are based. Some national organisations will also be listed in the national section and will have a (N) to symbolise it in their list. Overseas providers will have an (O) in the same way. Please note that the main list of  AAPs is still available if you continue to scroll down this page.

  • National Providers
These operate in all DofE Regions in England and Wales. All providers who operate within Scotland and Northern Ireland will be in their local listing.

Remember.... The Expedition section must be delivered either directly by Licensed Organisations (LO) through their LO licence or through AAPs. Expeditions not delivered by an LO and their staff/volunteers must be delivered through a licensed AAP.
