Learn new skills and make new friends

Blackwell Sailing is available to people in Cumbria, young or old who have a disability. We do not charge, though as we rely entirely on volunteers and grant funding we do suggest you might make a small contribution per session.
We have many groups and some individuals who make the most of what we have to offer at Blackwell. Not only is it a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, it is also a great place to make new friends.

The groups who currently come sailing are:  George Hastwell School, Barrow; Queen Elizabeth School, Kirkby Lonsdale and Whinfell School, Kendal. Day service groups come from Barrow, Kendal, Wigton and Ulverston. Riverside Social Club and the Vital Group from South Lakes Sight Advice also come.

Please make contact if you would like to come for a taster sailing session. Fact sheets can be sent to you via email or you can phone for a chat.

Take a look at the slideshow, it will definitely give you the feel for what we are all about.
