ISAF is proud of sailing's reputation as a dope-free sport. ISAF continues to work together with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the sailing world to help ensure that the sport can maintain its excellent reputation.
In accordance with The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012, which govern the sport on the water, all sailors are required to comply with the ISAF Anti-Doping Code, which follows the WADA Anti-Doping Code.
During the period of the Olympic Games, the IOC delegate the responsibility for implementing doping controls to the Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games and WADA. Outside of the period of the Olympic Games, including all of the qualification regattas, the ISAF Anti-Doping Code is in force for all competitors and ISAF is required to undertake doping tests, both in and out of competition.
ISAF has sub-contracted WADA and WADA authorized organizations to undertake a certain number of in and out of competition tests each year.
